Independently leads the system development effort by providing vision to the team, outlining work in the product backlog and coordinating with the business owner to prioritize based on business value. Has overall responsibility for the product/system success in meeting the needs of the stakeholders - both internal and external.
Gathers, validates, translates and prioritizes business and technical needs into a logically sequenced product and feature roadmap
Owns delivery of product requirements and associated materials to engineering Works closely with the Business Analyst to develop these artifacts and drives consensus building and sign-off of them with all stakeholders including external ones when applicable
Widely considered across the organization as the subject matter expert for the system and consistently advocates for the system with all stakeholders - internal and external
Resolves complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist
Drives alignment, requirements gathering for features and resolution of run-the-business user stories that require involvement of other LOB(s) in order to ensure solutions meets the customer's needs
Coordinates and prioritizes product backlog
Represents Senior Management in the making of product functionality decisions and compromises and is able to do so in way that that delivers the maximum amount of business value into the product while considering the inherent constraints of budget and timeframes
Manages impacts to multiple publics and business areas, adjusting deliverables as needed
Active participant in scrum ceremonies, including retrospective; works with the Scrum Master to develop and implement identified scrum process improvements
Works in partnership with other product owners to ensure cohesion across products and ensures that dependencies between development teams are effectively managed
Creates and delivers information at appropriate level for audience at all levels of the organization, including presentations and status updates. Represents the scrum team and the work of the team to product/system stakeholders
Collaborates and evangelizes detailed product roadmap plans, feature details and technical dependencies with other business units and divisions
Recognizes risk triggers and impediments and is able to clearly communicate situation to agile teams and help drive mitigation steps through collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders
Knowledgeable across multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, UI, sales, customer support, training, finance and marketing
Represents the organization's interests through frequent interactions with external customers for the purposes of sales, training and market input into the roadmap
Participates in the creation of product launch plans and help ensure supporting product documentation exists such as accurate sales collateral, product functionality guides, implementation support documentation
Has a comprehensive understanding of the needs of the market, the customer and how those drive the company's business strategy
Ability to own and manage feature planning for multiple products on a shared "product platform" Job Specifications Typically has the following skills or abilities: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
Six years of experience making business process recommendations and preparing business cases including cost benefit analysis
Six years of experience with business process analytics using Excel, flowcharting, activity diagrams and workflow models
Demonstrated ability to document, propose, negotiate and present approaches and solutions
Ability to visualize and create plans for future business outcomes and changes
Thorough understanding of business implications, project interdependencies and system interfaces
Strong conflict management skills
Proficient at facilitating meetings, and negotiating across all levels of the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
Proven ability to effectively communicate information to a wide variety of technical and non-technical individuals or groups at all levels of the organization
