OverviewMonitors heart rhythm patterns of patients throughout the hospital setting, to detect abnormal pattern variances. Prepares and compiles medical records and processes patient orders. Performs the following essential duties and responsibilities, supporting the nursing philosophy. May include weekends, holidays, day, evening, night shift, and/or on-call hours. Essential Functions- Observes all assigned monitors and accurately interprets rhythms. - Reports all changes in rhythm to RN assigned to patient. - Follows unit policy and procedure for accurately recording and documenting patient rhythm. - Immediately alerts RN of a lethal arrhythmia. - Records ongoing rhythm strips during emergency situations involving assigned patients. - Provides complete shift report. - Provides report to RN assigned to patient. Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or Equivalent - Completion of a CNA program required - Successfully pass EKG test prior to completion of orientation.

Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to smell, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
