ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs and manages assigned tasks including preventive maintenance and on-demand work orders, on equipment and buildings, within the established time frames while meeting departmental expectations for quality of work.
Monitors all areas of the building for maintenance issues including, but not limited to the building envelope (exterior siding system, windows, doors) etc.; recognizing problems and reporting to appropriate facilities staff grounds related issues or concerns, i.e. sidewalk issues, asphalt paving problems etc.
Monitors, maintains and troubleshoots problems with the utility system within the building to ensure the proper and optimum operation including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, life safety and energy management systems. This includes being responsible for systems such as boiler plant, chiller plant, ventilation system, fire protection systems, refrigerator equipment and other hospital systems as may be assigned.
Effectively communicates with customers, peers, and leadership. Knowledge in the use of a computer and related organizational programs, CMMS and BAS is required. This position installs televisions as required, maintains motors, fans, and other hospital equipment.
This position will require intermediate carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, and tasks associated with HVAC.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent 6 years of documented commercial/industrial maintenance experience (OR) 2 years equivalent healthcare experience plus an Active M.E.C.H. Certification (OR) 2 years equivalent healthcare experience or approved equivalent certifications (OR) 2 year equivalent healthcare experience and a minimum of four of the following certifications with manger approval; Water treatment certification for Boilers, Chillers & Cooling Towers, UST Class A/B Operator, Universal EPA refrigeration certification, ASSE 6040 certification, ASHE Healthcare Physical Environment Worker, Fire Door Maintenance Inspection, Fire Barrier Maintenance and Inspection, Pre-Approved NFPA, or ASHE Credits as approved by FMES Director and department need. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE See required certifications above Maintain a valid driver's license. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/move over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work is performed according to specific procedures and methods, but the incumbent must make minor decisions using independent judgment required in order to adapt to routine situations.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. PAY RANGE:
$21.00 - $30.45
