Provides quality health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician by performing the following duties in a compassionate, cost effective manner. A specialty clinic Physician Assistant is a highly specialized mid-level provider who works with other professionals to perform specialty services to patients in a particular area of expertise. -
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination, frequently with ESI level 2 and 3 patients.
Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal. Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunization, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Provides care for simple fractures, sprains, and strains to stabilize and restore musculoskeletal function. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. Functions as mentor and preceptor for fellow Advance Practice Professionals more than 50% of the time. Expectations also include giving input to Physician Medical Director regarding Advance Practice Professional partners performance and growth.

Accredited schooling through a Physician Assistant degree program. Certification and Licensure
Valid state license in State of Practice. Obtain CME credits for license renewal. Current certified status through National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Obtain CME experience as required for re-certification by NCCPA. Approved CPR or BLS certification. Other certification/licensure as required by contract.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. Skills and Abilities

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
