EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED required Graduate of a pharmacy technician program preferred Three years of pharmacy technician experience CERTIFICATION LICENSURE (RETAIL TECHNICIAN) Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required CPR or BLS certified ACPE Accredited Immunization Training Certification Illinois Licensure required, if employed in Illinois Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration required, if employed in Wisconsin CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (SPECIALTY TECHNICIAN) Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required Illinois Licensure required, if employed in Illinois Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration required, if employed in Wisconsin. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Drivers License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good interpretive/analytical skills for medication dosage calculations Basic computer skills Good interpersonal skills WORK ENVIRONMENT Occupational Exposure: Category A - All partners in the specified job classification have occupational exposure. AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED Neonate (birth - 28 days) Infant (29 days - less than 1 year) Pediatric (1 year - 12 years) Adolescents (13 years - 17 years) Adult (18 years - 64 years) Geriatric (65 years and older) Non-Specific Task (NA) INFORMATION ACCESS Partner may access patient care information, financial data, human resource data and strategic and planning data needed to perform their job duties as directed by the director. Specific vision abilities require by this job include frequent ability to adjust focus and occasionally distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 40 pounds. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION Work requires a moderate level of independent judgment along with good interpretative and interpersonal skills with justification and accountability to Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Supervisor, Manager, and or Director.
