ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Associate Degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electronics or related Military equivalent certifications required. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital BioMedical environment or equivalent. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Maintain a valid driver's license Have and maintain driving record per Mercy's HR-01 Fleet Safety policy Certification as a Biomedical Technician by AAMI preferred ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to understand and apply knowledge in technical manual, interpretive/analytical skills. Ability to prioritize workload. Good interpersonal/communication skills. Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occupational Exposure: Category C - No partners in the specified job classification have occupational exposure. AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED Neonate (birth - 28 days) Infant (29 days - less than 1 year) Pediatric (1 year - 12 years) Adolescents (13 years - 17 years) Adult (18 years - 64 years) Geriatric (65 years and older) INFORMATION ACCESS Partner may access patient care information needed to perform their job duties. WORK CONTACT GROUP Partners, physicians, patients/family, visitors, vendors SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. This is considered heavy work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION Some independent judgment is required, but alternatives are limited by standard practices or procedures. Minimal supervision required. Should be able to work independently and provide high levels of quality service and customer satisfaction. Expected to schedule time for and prioritize daily tasks.
