ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leads financial close process, budgeting and audit cycle for assigned areas.
* Reviews financial data ensuring variances are identified and explained or corrected.
* Prepares financial statements including balancing between systems.
* Takes a lead role in ensuring Balance Sheet account reconciliations are completed and appropriate.
* Takes a lead role in process documentation and process improvement initiatives.
* Coordinates department collaboration during projects (for example, close checklist, reconciliation checklist, M365 tools).
* Takes a lead role in understanding Finance system structure, leads upgrades.
* Prepares complex financial reviews and reconciliations, using both standard and ad hoc reporting tools to analyze source data.
* May manage core finance process such as Fixed Assets, Cash, Tax, Inventory, Financial Strategic Planning process, etc.
* Works with other departmental staff and departmental managers to prepare budget for multiple entities and responds to questions from Managers, Directors and Vice Presidents.
* Provides training to new staff.
* Analyzes data to complete regulatory reporting for areas assigned including tax returns, audits, surveys and cost reports.
* Analyzes complex financial processes and recommends opportunities to improve system financial performance.
* Assumes leadership role to complete projects in Finance department.
* Coordinates department workload of staff and associate accountants.
* Provides mentorship and training as needed to other accountants.
* Works with others across the organization to ensure procedures are adequate to ensure proper internal and external controls of financial data.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
BA in Accounting or Master's degree in related field preferred.

Five years of relative experience. Healthcare experience in preferred.

Bachelors Degree in related field will be considered, with seven years relative experience.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
CPA or CMA designation a plus, but not required

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to think independently desired, but could be developed on the job. Ability to adhere to deadlines and switch tasks frequently as necessary.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and other departmental personnel.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with automated accounting systems and proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. or other spreadsheet application . Knowledge of word processing software is helpful.

$73,107.50 - $113,316.63
