JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for accurate, correct routine and stat tissue processing including embedment, microtomy, mounting, and staining. Performs routine and special histology including advanced immunocytochemical and histochemical testing. Recognizes procedural, instrument and quality control problems and notifies Charge Histotechnolgist. Follows guidelines to correct problems or errors. Prepares reagents, stains and solutions according to guidelines.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate science field and Histotechnican HT(ASCP) , HTL (ASCP) certified, or eligible in 1 year.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Experience: Prefer 1 year in Histology Lab comparable to UVMMC.

Able to perform special stains, Immunohistochemistry, Muscle Histochemistries, basic troubleshooting skills for H&E, special stains.

NOTE: The hours of the position are M-F with a targeted shift of 12:00pm - 8:30 pm
