  • As an Equipment Engineer you will be part of the national In-building PMO team interfacing with supply chain, submarket teams, enterprise sales teams and senior leadership teams. You will help build the foundation that keeps in front of the competition. You will be responsible for the engineering, procuring and deployment of equipment within the National In-Building Organization. You will collaborate with RF, Construction and Transport to properly engineer, order, and deploy 4G and/or 5G technologies for our customers.
  • Design and implement all equipment supporting In Building Venue projects including, but not limited to Corning, Ericsson, Samsung, and Nokia.
  • Collaborating with RF, Construction and Transport on designing, and implementing the latest technologies in support of our 5G network rollout, in addition to, supporting the existing 4G LTE infrastructure.
  • Utilizing an internal database to document all purchases, designs, material releases, and other items as it relates to network equipment for In-Building projects.
  • Developing and maintaining equipment delivery schedules for each project and actively managing and driving the vendors to meet our deliverables.
  • Working with Network planning on strategic initiatives to develop future technology solutions that support our infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with other network groups to ensure projects meet expectant demands in support of the company's objectives.
  • Managing capital spending on a monthly basis to align with forecasted spend and project timelines.
  • Completing equipment related milestones using engineering tools such as FUZE.
  • Provide technical expertise on the Network Elements deployed for In-Building.
  • Utilizing agile project management practices to deliver on-time from project initiation to deployment.
  • Making sure operational training is secured and executed.
  • Driving Operations to the Standard Operating Environment and documenting process flows.
  • Leading project update meetings for leadership and finding creative ways to resolve problems.
  • Providing regularly scheduled Executive level reporting.
Must Have Skills (Most Important):
  • Seven or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Prior Wireless experience as an Equipment Engineer or Construction Engineer is highly desired and preferred.
  • In-depth experience with IB OEMs such as Corning, Ericsson, Samsung, Nokia, Cisco, Fujitsu.
  • Experience calculating Power and Cooling Requirements and designing rack layouts.
  • Experience in office computer applications: Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Experience managing project resources, and performing risk assessments and mitigation plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, detail oriented with strong project management, organization and time.
  • Ability to balance technical and business requirements.
  • Valid driver's license.
Desired Skills:
  • A Master's degree.
  • Experience with DAS provisioning, commissioning, integration and troubleshooting, walk testing and close out packages.
  • Ability to optimize process flows for backend process steps in the project.
  • Experience using confluence and JIRA software.
  • IBwave Level 3 certification.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies applied to project management.
  • Knowledge of LAA, CBRS, 5G products and implementation in enterprise building.
  • Knowledge of networks, products and services.
  • Knowledge of In-building deployment program.
  • Experience working with Fuze, Site Tracker and other internal Telecommunication tools.
  • PMI, Project Management Certification.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills (setting and communicating priorities; anticipating workload impact on resources of both self and team; delegating where appropriate; consistently following up on outstanding items; and providing focus in meetings and discussions).
  • Ability to maintain performance level under varying degrees of pressure and uncertainty and to effectively deal with situations for which few or no guidelines exist.
  • Flexible and creative (seeks out and attempts alternate solutions to resolve issues, and seamlessly adjusts to a dynamic, changing business environment).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed.
  • Experience in telecommunications / data networking or wireless industry.
  • Experience in 5G network architecture and equipment.
  • Experience managing large scale projects that interface between multiple teams.
  • Experience in vendor management, equipment ordering, and forecasting.
  • Experience in reading, understanding, and commenting on construction drawings.
  • Experience in 4G network architecture, CRAN architecture, and equipment.
  • Experience driving troubleshooting efforts.
