Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for a Facilities Engineering Intern to join our Fireplaces Business Unit in Mt. Pleasant, IA. We are the nation's leading manufacturer and supplier of hearth products, including a wide variety of gas, electric, wood and pellet burning fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and accessories. Headquartered in Lakeville, Minnesota, with distribution around the world, our innovative approach is supported by a business unit structure that allows us to develop and market products with a strong focus on customers' needs. Since 1996, we've been dedicated to connecting people through the warmth and comfort of our hearth products.
Our internship will run for approximately 12 weeks during the summer of 2026.We are targeting Sophomorestudents and preference will be given to students who reside in Iowa or are attending college in Iowa. Each summer, 15 to 20 students from a variety of majors, join the HHT family for a summer focused on hands on learning, professional development, and networking. HHT interns receive a project (or two!) for the summer and work directly with a mentor for technical and professional guidance. This is a paid internship at $24.00 per hour.
As a Facilities Engineering Intern with Hearth & Home Technologies, you join a fast-paced team with a vision and passion for implementing solutions and exceeding our customers' expectations. While no day will be the same, you can expect to put the knowledge you have gained in the classroom to use every day in a variety of experiences. The Facilities Engineering Intern will be involved in continuous improvement activities, creating preventive maintenance for critical equipment, create templates for visual preventive maintenance, and determining necessary spare parts for critical equipment.
What it takes:
  • Pursuing a four-year degree in engineering and currently completing Sophmore or Junior year
  • Attained high academic achievement in their education pursuits
  • Strong leadership characteristics and be active in college activities
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Be adaptable and flexible is critical
  • Strong communication skills are required
