Job Summary The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) as a part of the Solutions team works in support of our Liberty Software-Defined Instrument products and solutions (Liberty Product Line) The FAE is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to TEVET customers in the field of test and measurement equipment and Software-Defined Instrumentation. This role involves working closely with customers to understand their specific needs, recommending suitable solutions, working with the TEVET sales and product development teams, and assisting with the implementation and troubleshooting of our Liberty Product Line. Major Purpose: Bridge the gap between customers and the technical aspects of TEVET's Liberty Product Line. The FAE is a technical expert and consultant, providing support and guidance to meet our customer's specific needs. Help to quickly qualify a sales opportunity for direction of sales activities. The technical customer advocate/interface to the TEVET R&D teams. Objective: Provide exceptional support and guidance to customers in implementing and optimizing TEVET's Liberty Product Line. Ensure customer satisfaction, drive business growth, and contribute to the success of TEVET by delivering superior technical support, building strong customer relationships, and collaborating effectively with TEVET's internal teams. Function: Provides technical expertise, support, and guidance throughout the customer journey, to ensure customer success. Help customers effectively implement and optimize TEVET's Liberty Product Line, troubleshoot issues, and act as a valuable technical resource for customers and internal teams. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Detailed Tasks, Duties, Responsibilities: The primary role of the Field Applications Engineer is focused on delivering exceptional technical support and expertise to customers, enabling them to effectively utilize TEVET's Liberty Product Line for their specific applications. * Understand the customer's needs and application as it relates to TEVET's product lines. * Collaborate with the TEVET sales team and our partner's sales teams to identify potential customers and opportunities and provide technical expertise during the sales process, including customer visits, product demonstrations, and proposal preparation. * Engage with customers to understand their test and measurement requirements and assist in selecting the appropriate Liberty Product Line solutions based on their specific applications and requirements. * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understand their evolving needs, and provide ongoing support and technical advice to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. * Conduct demonstrations, training sessions, and workshops for customers to showcase the features, benefits, and technical capabilities of Liberty Product Line highlighting its relevance to customers' needs. * Support customers in the installation, setup, calibration, and training of TEVET's Liberty Product Line ensuring successful installation and optimal performance. * Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues or concerns raised by customers, providing timely and effective solutions. * Conduct on-site visits and field testing to assist customers in using the Liberty Product Line, analyzing test results, and optimizing performance. * Stay updated with industry test and measurement standards, regulations, and emerging technologies related to TEVET's Liberty Product Line and share knowledge with customers and internal teams. * Gather feedback from customers regarding Liberty products and solution's performance, usability, and features, and communicate it to the product development and engineering teams. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, engineering, and product management to influence product enhancements, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction. * Provide internal technical training and support marketing, sales, and customer support to enhance their understanding and proficiency in using Liberty Product Line. * Represent TEVET at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events, deliver technical presentations and engage with potential customers. * Prepare technical documentation, including application notes, user manuals, and reports, to support customers and internal stakeholders. Work Hours: Work hours will vary based on the situation. Customer installations and trade shows will often require longer days. While in the office the typical work hours are from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Travel Requirements: Moderate to frequent travel requirements. Travel could involve both domestic and international travel and could be up to 60%. Physical Demands The physical demands of the Field Applications Engineer working remotely within their home or remote location are generally minimal. However, the Field Applications Engineer position working remotely may have Liberty Product Line demonstration systems located at their home or a remote site. Transporting the demonstration systems from the remote location to customer sites, trade shows, and conferences requiring the ability to transport up to # 75lbs, and numerous pieces of equipment, etc. Remote telecommuting will require the employee to participate in virtual meetings, presentations, and video conferences. The employee will rely heavily on digital tools to interact with TEVET colleagues and customers. TEVET will provide the employees with a company workstation that will include a computer, monitors, keyboard, mouse, headset, and the appropriate software tools. Home office requires reliable broadband internet connection (minimum 3 MB upload, 18 MB download required) with ethernet connection capability. Qualifications Education/Experience/Knowledge Required: Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Experience: At least + years' relevant experience in the Defense Sector of Test and Measurement, with an emphasis on the Electronic Warfare (EW) sector. The Field Applications Engineer may be working with ITAR restricted data and will require providing proof US Citizenship and have or the ability to obtain a U.S. personal security clearance. Preferred: Education: Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Experience: At least 15+ years' relevant experience in the Electronic Warfare (EW) sector. Experience in the test ranges, design and verification labs, or production environments are a plus. Abilities/Skills Required: * Strong verbal and written technical communication skills are required to interface customer needs with TEVET's capabilities. * Extensive experience in a customer-facing role such as field applications engineering, sales engineering, and/or technical support in the test and measurement field. * Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers, understanding their testing needs. * Strong technical knowledge and understanding of test and measurement principles, equipment, and methodologies. * Knowledge of specific test and measurement markets, such as aerospace and telecommunications. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and provide effective solutions. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to travel frequently to customer sites as well as to attend industry conferences and events. * Ability to create a vision and convey the message in a persuasive manner. Preferred: * Strong EMSO Domain knowledge * Strong RADAR and EW domain knowledge * Strong technical knowledge in modular and Software-Defined Instrumentation. * Knowledge in RF design as it applies to modular measurement science applications * Knowledge in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) as it applies to modular measurement science applications * Knowledge in programming languages applies to modular measurement science applications. * Knowledge in using test and measurement equipment and software tools, and familiarity with relevant industry standards and protocols.
