| Job Duties |
The College of Education seeks a full-time (12-month, Stated Definite Term) Maynard Scholars Program Coordinator to serve as a strategic liaison between ECU's College of Education and K-12 schools, community colleges, and community organizations. This role is designed to recruit and engage preservice teachers, promote pathways into teacher education, and enhance academic rigor through coordinated research and mentoring initiatives. The coordinator will also lead efforts to develop and implement robust evaluation tools to measure program effectiveness and student outcomes. The coordinator will engage in some travel to Latham Clinical Schools Network areas/Maynard Scholarship supported counties for program, recruitment, and outreach activities. Duties include but are not limited to:
Recruitment & Outreach (25%)
- Develop and maintain partnerships with K-12 schools, community colleges, and community organizations to promote teacher education programs.
- Organize and lead recruitment events, presentations, and workshops targeting prospective students.
- Collaborate with school counselors, educators, and community leaders to identify and support potential teacher candidates.
- Create marketing materials and digital campaigns to highlight the benefits of ECU's teacher education programs.
Academic Engagement & Mentorship (25%)
- Coordinate faculty-student research initiatives and mentoring programs within the College of Education.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance academic rigor and student engagement.
- Support preservice teachers in accessing research opportunities, professional development, and academic support services.
- Support Maynard Scholar alums during their initial beginning teacher years, to enhance and increase retention within the field/classroom
Program Evaluation & Improvement (25%)
- Design and implement evaluation instruments to assess program effectiveness, student success, and engagement outcomes.
- Analyze data to inform strategic improvements in recruitment, mentoring, and academic programming.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners.
Program Coordination (25%)
- Coordinate the award offers, fund distributions, grade reports, annual disbursements and annual employment verifications and payback with ECSI, Financial Aid, Cashier's Office and other University Partners.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and evaluating all aspects of the Maynard Scholars Program.
- Support annual selection, orientation, and recognition events for new and continuing scholars.
- Collaborate with College of Education faculty, advisors, and offices to align student support with college and university goals.
- Maintain program records, track outcomes, and prepare reports to support assessment and continuous improvement.

- Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
- Experience in K-12 education, teacher preparation, or academic program coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments.
