Acara Solutions is seeking a Senior CNC Programmer to join our client on a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity available in San Jose 95131
  • Payrate: $55 - $65 per hour (OT available)
  • Shift: 9x80 work schedule with flexible start times

This position will support a high-precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing CNC programs, optimizing machining processes, and leading programming activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery of machined components.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, edit, and optimize CNC mill programs using CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar)
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and models to plan machining operations
  • Design machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and work holding methods for precision parts
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines and edit G-code at the machine control
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and process plans
  • Troubleshoot machining, programming, and production issues to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Inspect parts to customer specifications and tolerances
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to programming team members and coordinate daily programming activities
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support manufacturing goals
  • Maintain accurate job records, programming documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of CNC mill programming, setup, and operation in a high-precision manufacturing environment
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with CAD/CAM systems and CNC programming software
  • Expertise in fixture design, tooling selection, machining processes, and blueprint interpretation
  • Experience editing G-code and troubleshooting CNC machining operations
  • CNC lathe programming experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical documentation
