Description

Acara Solution is looking for an Advanced Systems Administration Specialist for our client located in Manassas, VA.

Here's what you'd do:

  • As an Advanced Systems Administration Specialist, you'll serve as a front-line interface to users with technical issues by conducting systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.
  • Your duties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications, and training users.
  • You'll also be responsible for the day-to-day support of server services by performing server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems and configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting physical and virtual hardware and network-related interfaces on servers.
  • Perform OS and vendor software patching on servers and monitor physical and virtual servers' performance using monitoring tools.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with 5 years of experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration or technical support.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in installing and troubleshooting software applications.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree with 3 years of experience
  • Solid understanding of server-based operating systems
  • Enhanced troubleshooting skills within the server OS, as well as both networking and storage technologies
  • Working knowledge to create and run scripts to automate repetitive processes
  • Strong knowledge in Linux environment to include RHEL 8, 9, & Red Hat
  • Strong knowledge in Windows environment tooling (desktop, server, Active Directory, Exchange, etc.)
  • Familiarity with networking, including firewalls, CISCO & Juniper switches
  • Familiarity with secure development practices in classified environments
  • Creative thinking with the ability to multitask
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

  • Requires an active Secret Clearance
