Description Acara Solution is looking for an Advanced Systems Administration Specialist for our client located in Manassas, VA. Here's what you'd do: As an Advanced Systems Administration Specialist, you'll serve as a front-line interface to users with technical issues by conducting systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. Your duties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications, and training users. You'll also be responsible for the day-to-day support of server services by performing server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems and configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting physical and virtual hardware and network-related interfaces on servers. Perform OS and vendor software patching on servers and monitor physical and virtual servers' performance using monitoring tools. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with 5 years of experience Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration or technical support. Minimum 5 years of experience in installing and troubleshooting software applications. Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Master's Degree with 3 years of experience Solid understanding of server-based operating systems Enhanced troubleshooting skills within the server OS, as well as both networking and storage technologies Working knowledge to create and run scripts to automate repetitive processes Strong knowledge in Linux environment to include RHEL 8, 9, & Red Hat Strong knowledge in Windows environment tooling (desktop, server, Active Directory, Exchange, etc.) Familiarity with networking, including firewalls, CISCO & Juniper switches Familiarity with secure development practices in classified environments Creative thinking with the ability to multitask Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success Commitment to ongoing professional development.
