Job Description:
We are hiring a Chemist to join us onsite in Texarkana, TX. The Chemist will: Perform laboratory testing of environmental samples, quality samples, and safety samples in support of facility operations using a wide variety of test instrumentation. Perform method development and research as necessary. Principal Responsibilities: Analyze potentially hazardous samples from production, from raw materials, and from expired materials in accordance with established SOPs. Primarily achieved by utilizing analytical balances, distillation apparatuses, vacuum ovens, wet chemistry techniques, and calorimeters. (50%) Performs routine maintenance of test instrumentation, equipment, and chemical workspaces. (15%) Processes and reports test data results and related communication as needed. (15%) Develop new methods and procedures as needed by working with other laboratory staff and referencing technical publications. (15%) Assist other chemists at other Company or Government locations. (5%) Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or higher in Chemistry or a closely related discipline (Required) Minimum Work Experience: 4+ years previous experience involving laboratory analysis of materials (Required) Previous research experience (Preferred) Travel Requirements: Estimated 5% travel as needed Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver License (Required) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Theoretical knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques and their application - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations - Strong teamworking skills - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions - Strong numerical and analytical ability and the ability to solve complex problems - Ability to precisely follow formulas and SOPs with obsessive attention to detail - Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Programs Candidates may be required to satisfy additional job-related requirements, including those established and controlled by third parties, as part of the selection process. In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $76,640 - $ 114,950. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
