A Day In The Life
The Senior Accountant under the leadership of the Manager, Accounting will support the process to provide business essential, cost effective, charge-back services to associates and departments within GSFS Group. The Senior Accountant will 1) provide general accounting services for GSFS Group and 2) ensure that all financial data is recorded accurately and on time within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policy and Business Partnership Agreements.

As a Accountant Sr you will:

  • Execute a Monthly Close of the General Ledger for GSFS Group. Maintain the close schedule.
  • Prepare journal entries - including recurring entries - for Month End Close. Make materiality decisions on close entries.
  • Analyze, generate and process intercompany entries needed to adjust or reallocate expenses between business units. Prepare, review and/or post Intercompany billing forms.
  • Maintain well-documented workpapers for journal entries and account reconciliations. As part of the reconciliation process, review the reasonableness of balance sheet and income statement accounts in order to determine that all necessary entries have been recorded.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts in a timely fashion including intercompany balances; resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Compare the actual results to the budgeted results and provide variance explanations on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze monthly and year-end financial data to ensure that it is recorded accurately, in accordance Accountant Sr with GAAP.
  • Assist in reviewing or preparing ancillary audit schedules, audit footnotes, tax schedules and tax forms.
  • Participate in annual business planning process; provide information and assistance to business units, as requested.
  • Coordinate and communicate actions between the departments within the company.
  • Research and resolve accounting transaction questions and other customer issues in an agreed upon timeframe. Strive to satisfy customers. Minimize referrals to management.
  • Maintain checklist and other logs to ensure completeness in financials.
  • Support and act as back-up to other team functions - Oracle GL Admin, pool, intercompany.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • May participate in or support project and process improvement teams.
  • Collaborates with co-workers and GSFS/GSA leaders to leverage knowledge and experience to improve processes, procedures and the work environment in order to eliminate inefficient and ineffective processes and procedures.
  • Compliance: Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, GSFS and FCI policies and operating standards and applicable federal and state laws.


What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from four-year College or university Req
  • 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required
  • Ability to apply common sense.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) active or working towards certification. Preferred and
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required
  • Internal Auditing Awareness-Developing Required

Physical Requirements
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
