SUMMARY: The Nursing Resource Manager reports directly to the Manager of System Nursing Workforce Optimization & Operations and is responsible for the scheduling and on-demand staffing of all inpatient nurses. This role ensures that staffing levels consistently align with patient acuity, supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality care delivery. By fostering strong communication, anticipating needs, and responding proactively to fluctuations in patient volume and acuity, the Nursing Resource Manager plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence and optimizing the patient care experience. This position has oversight of up to the interdiscplinary team, including nursing staffing specialists, and schedulers. Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date database of departmental employees, generating strategic reports and analytics to support operational decision-making. Monitor and manage all budgeted FTEs, including vacancy tracking and strategic reallocation of positions to meet evolving departmental needs. Conduct monthly compensation analyses to assess voluntary and involuntary overtime trends, collaborating with the Manager System Nursing of Workforce Optimization & Operations, along with leadership to address variances and optimize labor resources. Design, implement, and maintain dynamic staffing schedules that ensure seamless coverage during planned and unplanned absences, preserving continuity of care and operational stability. Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of direct reports and support staff. Partner with Division Directors and Human Resources to resolve union and non-union grievances. Oversee internal job postings and awards, ensuring transparency and equity in the selection process. Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations, recommending corrective actions when necessary in collaboration with HR and departmental leadership. Facilitate regular individual and team meetings to foster engagement, address concerns, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Ensure all new and existing staff are thoroughly oriented to departmental responsibilities, customer service expectations, and evolving policies and procedures. Communicate changes clearly and consistently to maintain alignment and compliance. Support the Manager System Nursing of Workforce Optimization & Operations in developing and executing short- and long-term strategic plans. Lead and contribute to departmental projects, including productivity analyses and operational enhancements. Set high standards for professionalism, customer service, and respectful team interactions. Serve as a visible role model for effective communication, ethical conduct, and collaborative problem-solving. Champion ongoing professional development opportunities for staff, identifying growth pathways and allocating resources to support career progression and skill enhancement. Apply advanced knowledge of management, accounting, and marketing principles to achieve departmental goals. Oversee facility needs including office equipment and supply management to ensure a well-supported work environment. Perform other strategic and operational duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and excellence of the department and organization. EDUCATION: Level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of baccalaureate degree program in business administration, accounting or related field, or the equivalent experience-based knowledge attained by years of progressively more responsible experience. High level of interpersonal and organizational skills to communicate with physicians, residents and faculty on matters relating to department administrative functions. Able to communicate effectively with support staff, outside agencies and vendors. High level of tact, sensitivity and independent judgement required. Knowledge of management, accounting, and marketing methods to accomplish department goals. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are essential. Strong leadership skills EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years relevant experience with demonstrated progression in leadership experience. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Direct supervision of up to 10 FTE.
