Position Description:
Manage and oversee on-site security operations and team. Develop and implement security procedures to keep company, executives, employees, workers, visitors, guests, and assets safe.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee armed patrol and monitoring of entire company building facility (e.g., on foot, using surveillance equipment or other technology assistance) to ensure only authorized executives, employees, workers, visitors and guests enter premises.
  • Participate in planning efforts with external security consultants, undercover activities, and other security and/or safety efforts designated by company executive leadership
  • Strategically and proactively assess and mitigate escalated risks to safeguard company facility, executives, employees, workers, visitors, guests, and assets.
  • Ensure company security measures align with current and local community events and activities; recommend security protocol enhancements to minimize potential external and internal security risks.
  • Manage and coordinate Security Guards and Consultants as required for daily and undercover operations.
  • Understand, follow, and guide Security team to adhere to company and office policies, and other procedures.
  • Establish, implement, and guide Security team to adhere to Security standard operating protocols to ensure safety, customer service, and hospitality in daily operations.
  • Coordinate safety, emergency (including medical and non-medical), and undercover protocols and procedures.
  • Assign Security Guards to collaborate with Human Resources team, monitor sensitive employee interactions, and escort employees and others on and off premises as directed.
  • Assimilate into working environment in positive and respectful way to observe without causing disruption to employee daily operations.
  • Assess Security team's use appropriate conflict resolution techniques and provide feedback as needed.
  • Conduct investigations into incidents, gather evidence, and assist law enforcement as directed.
  • Communicate with and provide verbal and written incident status and reports to local law enforcement, security guards, and consultants, office building facility authorities, Floor Warden, and company executives as required.
  • Communicate verbal and written incident status and executive summary reports to and company executive leadership.
  • Review documentation of office policy violations, surveillance, and security related incidents.
  • Foster professional and working relationships with building facility's Security Director and security guard staff to develop open communication and team work.
  • Understand building facilities' emergency procedures,
  • security tools, electronic access and CCTV systems in use throughout building facility working in collaboration with building Security Director, security guard staff.
  • May transport and safeguard company executives, as directed.
  • Amend security operations to continuously improve security policies and procedures.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Concealed Carry License or Permit, New York State and/or Federal Firearm License
  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Criminal Justice or related field with minimum of 20 years of experience in law enforcement supervision or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, desired
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certified
  • Current state issued driver's license
  • Skilled in emergency protocols and procedures
  • Skilled observer and with use of surveillance equipment
  • Skilled in conflict resolution techniques
  • Skilled in event and transportation security
  • Skilled communicator with Security team, law enforcement, company leaders, and employees
  • Exceptional response skills, able to think clearly and quickly under duress
  • Ability to diffuse conflict or threatening situations using appropriate security means and methods
  • High standards of accountability and integrity, maintain confidential information, and exercise discretion
  • Passion to work with people, creating healthy, safe, and secure environment
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills, able to set direction and delegate assignments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with clear verbal and written communication skills

The employee frequently views a computer monitor and frequently uses a computer keyboard. The employee is regularly required to be mobile, and the employee occasionally travels both short and long distances via a variety of conveyances. The employee regularly performs work on-site at construction work sites, office locations, and/or off-site venues. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
