Camp and Outreach Coordinator

University of Kansas
United States, Kansas, Lawrence
1450 Jayhawk Boulevard (Show on map)
Feb 20, 2026
Position Overview
The University of Kansas School of Engineering boasts some of the best resources, technology, and the most highly qualified students on campus. The Engineering Student Success (ESS) Suite serves all of the needs of undergraduate students in the School, from scholarships and admissions to advising and facilitating leadership opportunities. The School of Engineering at the University of Kansas prepares students for careers in engineering and computing. Our team has built a series of engineering summer camps designed to educate prospective students and, indirectly, to recruit them to the University of Kansas School of Engineering. As part of this effort, the Camp and Outreach Coordinator will organize a large, complex educational series and manage a significant summer staff. The coordinator will engage in outreach functions during the camp offseason for the School of Engineering.
This position is responsible for the organization, administration, operation, and evaluation of the summer camps. This position will hire and supervise student Resident Assistants, coordinate registration and payment functions, manage an operating budget for the camps, and directly oversee each of the camps as they take place. The camp is self-funded, making financial management an important part of this position. This position will work closely with the recruitment staff to ensure that the goals of the School of Engineering are being met by the camp and will evaluate the camps accordingly.
This position will work in conjunction with the School of Engineering's recruitment team and report to the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment and Outreach. The School of Engineering's recruitment team is an exemplary unit when it comes to enrollment management, scholarship strategy, recruitment, outreach, and event planning. This position would join that team as it revisits its recruitment and outreach strategies in light of the changes in the broader University landscape, while maintaining the quality and goals of the School of Engineering.
