Our client is looking for a Contract Art Director / Retail Graphic Designer to join their team!
This is a 10+ hours/week assignment for approximately 2-3 weeks that will require fully remote work, with availability to meet virtually during Pacific Time hours. Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and design high-impact retail displays, including aisle endcaps and pallet displays, that drive visibility, shopper engagement, and sell-through in major retail environments.
Translate brand storytelling into compelling in-store visual systems that align with retail guidelines while preserving creative integrity and emotional resonance.
Develop presentation-ready mockups, production files, and scalable design assets tailored for national retail partners such as Target and Walmart.
Collaborate cross-functionally with brand, marketing, and retail stakeholders to refine creative direction and ensure feasibility within retail specifications and manufacturing constraints.
Apply a strong, cohesive visual sensibility-ideally with a playful, "cute" Japanese-inspired aesthetic-to elevate product storytelling and stand out in competitive toy and consumer goods aisles.
Balance creative exploration with practical execution, ensuring designs are both visually compelling and production-ready within tight timelines.
Requirements:
Proven experience designing retail displays for major national retailers (e.g., Target, Walmart), including endcaps, pallet programs, and in-store signage systems.
Strong portfolio demonstrating retail-focused design work with clear understanding of shopper behavior and physical retail environments.
Ability to execute within brand guidelines while contributing elevated creative thinking; toy or consumer products experience strongly preferred.
Availability to begin immediately and commit 10+ hours per week over a 2-3 week contract, with flexibility to collaborate during Pacific Time business hours.
The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $90.00-$100.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
