Residential Counselor - part time weekends (evening shift or night shift)

Evening shift schedule: Saturdays and Sundays 4PM-12AM; Night shift schedule: Saturdays and Sundays 12AM-8AM

Pay Range $20.59 to $21.21 per hour (night shift is eligible for a $3 per hour shift differential)

Position Summary

Individual Services Shelter Residential Counselors are responsible for working closely with clients in a congregate emergency residential shelter site, to provide life skills support to individuals who are staying at the shelter. This position also provides oversight of site operations which include enforcing safety measures, program rules, and evening expectations using a trauma informed and client centered approach.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Assist with screening, intake activities and orientation of new clients into the shelter program
  • Providing guidance and information to clients regarding the daily activity schedule, house rules and policies
  • Oversee security and safety
  • Completing housekeeping duties
  • Ensuring daily chores are completed
  • Provide emergency crisis management to individuals
  • Uphold the values of CTI - Equity, Integrity, Compassion

Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent crisis management skills
  • Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection
  • Good attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bilingual skills
  • 1 year previous experience working with individuals in need of social services (preferably low income individuals)
