Production Lead

The Production Lead demonstrates the ability to direct and perform daily production activities in all areas of the Boise production operation as a subject matter expert. Responsible for providing coverage and ongoing training to other team members. Provides input for continuous process improvements, and partners with management to implement changes to ensure safe work practices and quality products.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees and supports each department to ensure work quality and on-time delivery for all customers, including same day orders.
• Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Boise Production team. Establishes and maintains a work environment that provides for personal and professional growth and development.
• Manages raw material and supply levels.
• Monitors and replenishes material inventory and stock orders.
• Serves as the liaison between Production and other departments as needed. Communicates with other supervisors and Production departments to ensure effective manufacturing of MSI's products.
• Sends daily lead time email for Boise Production, responds to additional lead time inquiries as needed.
• Participates in staff planning, interviewing and selection, and performance evaluations as needed.
• Supports all new production employee onboarding and training.
• Keeps employees informed of changes and developments that affect their jobs and performance. Motivates individuals to promote an environment of continual improvement through teamwork and cooperation.
• Complies with MSI safety procedures and practices. Emphasizes importance of safety to employees. Ensures all materials are stored properly and comply with safety procedures.
• Works with other MSI staff to identify solutions to improve service to our customers and to pinpoint process improvements.

• Must be able to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of quality, accuracy, timeliness, reliability, productivity and housekeeping.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

There is a moderate risk of injury. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average at least 40 hours a week. May require some additional hours. Some business travel may be required. Consistent and regular attendance required.
