Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking a Mechanical Design Intern based in Reamstown, PA (onsite). This role will report directly to the AVP Product Development. The Mechanical Design Intern will engage in 3D designing and drafting while collaborating with various departments to bring innovative concepts to life. This intern will also gain hands-on experience in a testing lab, focusing on mounting and installing components to ensure functionality and performance.

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $21/hr. - $25/hr. (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

What you will do
  • Gather data and analyze the business challenges alongside subject matter experts. Drive evidence-based decision-making that helps design a new process
  • Schedule routine check-in meetings with your supervisor to monitor the advancement of assigned projects
  • Attend weekly lunch and learn sessions where you will get to learn more about a business topic of the week! Some examples of past topics include: Top 10 Presentation Skills, Environmental Health and Safety, StrengthsFinder, etc.
  • Deep dive into data and use evidence-based decision making that helps design a new process, introduce new technology, re-imagines the way we collaborate, or positively influences our culture
  • Sit in on meetings both within and beyond your designated role to broaden your engagement
What we require
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with anticipated graduation date in December 2025 through Spring 2028
  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks (May-August 2025)
