Real Time Operator Intern -Summer 2026

Hunt Energy Network is a Dallas-based developer and operator of distributed energy resources. Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Real-Time Operator Intern for the HEN - NOC department located in our Dallas, TX office. This is a paid summer internship opportunity with housing provided if needed.

This role will be working with our Network Optimization Center to assist with the Day-Ahead scheduling and Real-Time dispatch of our assets to best execute the strategies implemented by the revenue and trading teams. It will also consist of working with our Software and Operations teams to understand BESS operation in the ERCOT interconnection and implement strategies to maximize efficiency. This role will be a hybrid of days and nights, geared towards giving the operator experience with market volatility during the early evening hours, balanced with project-based work during the day.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize the traDER Max platform to efficiently optimize the dispatch of the network of distributed storage batteries.
• Be able to profitably react to changes in ERCOT dispatch instructions as well as changes in the supply/demand balance in accordance with ISO and market procedures.
• Execute Real Time dispatch and trading strategies set forth by the revenue team.
• Participate in the incubation and generation of revenue-enhancing strategies for the portfolio.
• Assist in day-to-day operational management of a 500 MWh BESS portfolio.
• Generate operational reports highlighting power dispatch and performance.
• Collaborate with HEN Software and operations teams to ensure reliability and compliance for the portfolio of assets.
• Provide support to real-time team members.
• Perform real-time analysis and reporting for the desk and management.

Required Degree Background:

• Rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree or master's in engineering, accounting, finance, economics, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3.0 grade point average

Required Skills/Knowledge:
