Your Job

The Business Unit Safety Leader for CPG Dixie will be responsible for providing safety and health support to the CPG Dixie business which includes the following sites: Darlington SC, Fort Smith AR, Lexington KY, Bowling Green KY, Leominster MA, St. Mary's GA, and Jackson TN. These responsibilities will include, facilitating the reduction of risk across the Dixie Operations with a focus on reducing critical hazards and risk; Developing strategic plans that will be used as a baseline strategy across all Dixie sites and will align with the overall CPG objectives and strategies; partnering with sites and key stakeholders to reduce complexity, increase collaboration, share best practices, and improve organizational effectiveness.

This position reports to the Consumer Products Group (CPG) Food Service Safety Director -and performs work on behalf of the CPG Dixie Business.

This position is a remote position and will require approximately 35% - 50% travel, which will be domestic travel.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with the VP of Operation to align interests, clearly communicate expectations, and foster an environment where safety is fully integrated into operations.
  • Facilitate the development of an overall S&H strategic plan for the Dixie business.
  • Organize, schedule, and conduct site assessments or have structured conference calls with all sites to ensure that the Dixie plan has been well communicated and is well understood.
  • Ensure that all locations are aligned with the strategic plan and are making good progress towards plan objectives. Provide additional support to sites that may need help in implementing strategies or achieving plan objectives.
  • Ensure that Dixie's safety talent position meets the organizational needs and develop that talent in a way that builds skill, aligns interests, and drives significant safety improvement.
  • Work with the CPG safety capability team and critical hazard risk reduction leaders to drive risk reduction across all 7 critical hazards. Work with sites to prioritize risks and to drive a consistent approach to the implementation of our path to zero plan.
  • Utilize the operations playbook to build additional structure and discipline into our risk management system (RMS). Work with site safety leaders to determine the strength of their site level RMS and support sites that need additional help.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Save-my-Life/Start Work process in a way that helps drives value and ensures alignment with implementation goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate the application of HOP concepts across the Dixie business and work with HOP leaders, safety leaders, and mill mangers to develop a learning organization.
  • Ensure the appropriate level of safety staffing at our Dixie sites and develop those leaders in a way that improves engagement and alignment and drives a better understanding of our key objectives and strategies.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety or Related Field. Equivalent work experience may be considered for internal candidates on a case-by-case basis
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing safety in an industrial environment

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 10 plus years of experience managing safety in an industrial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to improve organizational effectiveness across multiple sites
  • Experience and knowledge in safety management systems and other mental models that help drive organizational effectiveness
  • Experience with Microsoft applications to include but not limited to creating charts, formatting, data entry, creating presentations and reports

For this role, we anticipate paying $125,000 - $165,000 annually and it is eligible for variable compensation.
