The Manager of Codes and Standards (C&S) will focus on relevant technical resources to enable excellence in service delivery, plus commercialization of engineering services.

This role leads technical staff and is accountable for technical support activities and training-both billable and non-billable-performed by the C&S group, including ICSS and international code support across regions. The Manager C&S is responsible for the C&S knowledge databases, including development, updates, and training on relevant IT applications, as well as ensuring consistently high-quality technical content that supports both domestic and international code compliance. The position requires recognized expert-level knowledge in one or more ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and is expected to be viewed externally as an industry authority, including in the context of international codes and standards. In addition, the Manager provides commercial oversight of design review services, including scoping, prioritization, resource planning, and collaboration with business leaders to support revenue, pricing, and client commitments across global markets. The role also carries administrative responsibility for staffing levels, budgets, time and expense approvals, internal processes and procedures, and compliance with corporate policies.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Welding, Metallurgy or Civil Engineering
  • Preferred: Required plus MS in Mechanical, Welding, Metallurgy or Civil Engineering
  • Preferred: Holds a National Board Commission.
  • Required: Fifteen or more years' work experience in an engineering capacity, ten of which are directly related to pressure equipment constructed to ASME B&PV Code or other related standards (materials, design, fabrication);
  • Preferred: Required plus a minimum of five years in the position of at least Codes and Standards Engineer within C&S.
  • Required: Experience with Microsoft tools such as MS Office and Teams.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expert level experience with one or more ASME Code Sections
  • Working experience with ASME Sections I, II, V, VIII and IX, plus international pressure equipment regulations and construction standards besides ASME
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise and informative written communications.
  • Excellent customer service skills demonstrated by listening, taking ownership, following up and providing positive customer interaction.
  • Strong informal and formal presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks of a more complex nature without interrupting normal work processes or impacting quality of results.
