The Industrial Wood (IW) Commercialization Engineering Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to run and maintain the IW Pilot System. Responsibilities will include maintaining the pilot equipment, running lab and pilot batches, testing for QC parameters, reporting results, and assisting with FMAP and ARC processes. This position will interface with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and counterpart Engineering teams on process optimization, best practices, and quality and productivity improvement projects.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.

* Operate the pilot plant equipment to make scale-up batches, test process and quality improvements, and fill customer trial requests.
* Review formulas for manufacturability and pull necessary raw materials for batch making.
* Follow good, safe lab practices and run QC testing for completed lab and pilot batches.
* Contribute to the execution of design of experiments (DOEs) for lab and pilot scale-up studies.
* Manage the operation, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of pilot equipment, large batch lab mixers, and various testing instruments.
* Drive continuous lab and process improvements through generating project ideas.
* Effectively work and communicate with team members through collaboration on assigned projects.
* Function with limited supervision and write-up simple reports outlining procedures and results.
* Seek assistance on priorities for scheduling work.
* Maintain safe operating procedures through complete knowledge of safety rules and procedures and maintain a clean work area.
* Perform other duties as assigned and have flexible working hours as dictated by project needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
* High School Degree or equivalent
* Knowledge of basic math skills
* Computer literacy for basic data entry, communication, and data analysis using MS applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 1+ years of experience in a laboratory
* 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting, especially in paints and coatings
* Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances
