Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Marine Transportation Researcher for Rutgers' Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation ( CAIT). The Senior Marine Transportation Researcher at Rutgers' Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation ( CAIT) is a position that involves leading and supporting a wide range of policy, planning, and technical projects.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Serves as a project leader.
  • Conducts research.
  • Writes proposals.
  • Manages projects for various external agencies.

FLSA Nonexempt
Salary Details $70 - $80 per hour

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in Marine Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Maritime Studies, Transportation Planning, Environmental Toxicology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in marine transportation, dredged material management, maritime infrastructure planning, or related environmental/transportation fields.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience leading or managing complex projects for governmental agencies (e.g., state DOTs, USACE, EPA, port authorities, or regional planning bodies).
  • Strong understanding of dredging technologies, dredged material management, environmental permitting, and sediment testing protocols.
