Position Summary Common Laborers are new construction professionals who perform various tasks involving physical labor on underground residential electric distribution systems. What You'll Do Operate hand and/or power tools (hammers, sledgehammers, pry bars, screwdrivers, etc.) Hand-dig trenches for conduit placement around live utility services Operate jackhammers (10-90 lbs.) both vertically and horizontally Use asphalt saws and quickie saws Operate tampers in ditches Handle and move 20' pipe joints and hand materials to other workers in ditches Climb ladders and handle 4x8x3/4" plywood Push and operate manual and mechanical wheelbarrows Load and unload materials such as lumber, plywood, cement bags, sandbags, and 5-gallon buckets Maintain availability Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (up to 55 hours per week) Assist other craft workers as needed Perform other labor-related duties as assigned by the supervisor This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position.
