Location Address: 4801 Beckner Road Santa Fe, NM 87507Compensation Pay Range: Minimum Offer $40.08 Maximum Offer $61.19Summary: Cardiovascular sonographer (echocardiographer/ vascular sonographer) independently performs a variety of diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound procedures. This position is multimodality with the intermediate knowledge of both cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease states. All examinations are performed within standard protocols defined in the lab. The sonographer performs examinations in both inpatient hospital settings and outpatient clinic setting. Cardiovascular images are digitally acquired, and measurements obtained per protocols. Sonographer ensures patient safety through use of procedure protocols and policies. Continues to advance and evolve their technical knowledge in their field, intermediate skill level pursuing more advance skills and procedures.How you grow, learn and thrive matters here. Responsibilities: *Performs routine echocardiograms for evaluation of possible abnormal heart defects or disease (inpatient or outpatient).*Performs routine vascular ultrasound (inpatient or outpatient). *Perform Stress echocardiogram and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms. *Requires detailed knowledge of cardiac anatomy, vascular anatomy, pathophysiology and principles of ultrasound. *Applying independent judgement during exam to determine the need to for any additional imaging enhancements or bubble study. *Demonstrates knowledge and critical thinking skills with the ability to recognize, analyze and resolve problems to ensure completion of performed exam. *Accurately completes charges for all exams performed in the EHR system as well as initiate and assign the preliminary report in PACS. *Perform cardiovascular studies independently. *Maintain and submit required data for Quality Assurance as well as IAC cases. *Keeps current with developments in the field through participation in seminars, workshops and publications. *Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures. Properly disinfection all equipment according to MIFU guidelines post procedure *Maintains and documents communications with physician and nursing units regarding test results. *Communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to the patientAs ability to understand. *Function as a team member to organize and prioritize responsibilities to complete daily work requirements. *Maintain requirements for hospital/departmental and specialty area(s) competencies. *Participates in and endorses the established PHS Policies and Procedures and guest relations programs. *Knowledge in Joint Commission regulations pertaining to the lab as well as knowledge in HLD. *Consults with and keep supervisor informed of activities, needs and problems in assigned areas *Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the practice of echocardiography/ Vascular sonography. * Pursue advanced practice of echocardiographer and learn TEE procedure. *Available for call on a monthly rotational basis. *Assists in interview for potential sonographer candidates *Performs other duties and functions as required. Qualifications: *High school diploma or GED is required*Graduate of a two year Allied Health Training Program, Ultrasound Technology preferred *Bachelors program in health science (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) or graduate of an accredited program in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) preferred *5-9 years experience inpatient/outpatient cardiovascular ultrasound. *New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (NMRTT) *Current BLS required. * Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI: RCS) or Registered Diag. Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS: RDCS) and * Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI: RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS: RVT) Certs: BLS, NMRTT We're all about well-being, starting with yours.
