Summary:

Provide logistical support for life cycle management of general, research, and medical supplies, equipment, and chemicals; and for supply chain management, to include arranging for transportation and storage of materials both dangerous and non-dangerous. The Contractor shall provide support for the warehouse receiving and shipping docks to include certification in the use of forklifts and pallet jacks.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities, supervising staff, and managing, evaluating and reporting on warehouse productivity.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack.
  • Receive, store, and issue general and medical supplies and equipment utilizing manual and agency automated inventory system. Approximately 600 transactions per month.
  • Pack, crate, ship, receive and coordinate transportation of infectious and other hazardous materials for national and international shipment. Approximately 2-5 transactions per month.
  • Receive, store and issue USAMRIID packages utilizing personal package program system. Approximately 100 entries per month.
  • Provide routine customer service actions in the form of assisting customers, answering phone and e-mail inquiries.
  • Provide routine warehouse duties including but not limited to weekly maintenance/cleaning of USAMRIID north and west docks. Approximately 25 actions per month.
  • Provide daily administrative oversight of assigned projects to ensure that they meet customer expectations for cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Be on call to respond, including physically coming to the USAMRIID after duty hours and weekends to attend to refrigerators, freezers, CO2 and liquid nitrogen tanks located in the warehouse, on the dock, as well as other gas cylinders managed by Logistics.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. in the performance of tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license; must be able to drive a government vehicle.
  • In accordance with 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR and Defense Transportation Requirement (DTR) 4500.9-R and 49 CFR the Contractor shall be able to obtain and maintain certification necessary by attending the Transport of Biomedical Material Course (40 hours) provided by the Army Public Health Center to handle and transport biomedical materials at no additional cost to the Government.
    • This course must be completed within 30 days of Contractor in-processing. BPRP enrollment is required and will be held and maintained IAW the provisions in this contract and all applicable regulations.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification within 60 days of assignment.
  • Ability to be on call to respond, including physically coming on base after duty hours and on weekends.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen T1 (National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI))
  • Pass the minimum personnel background investigation of T1; NACI may be accepted if there was less than a 24-month break in service from previous Government employment.
  • Pass screening prior to hiring for active participation in any group opposing research involving the use of animals.
  • Pass criminal history check if requiring base access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for the position is $68,600.00 to $70,000.00.
