Position Summary

The Compliance Analyst supports management of the Records and Compliance Unit for the Department of Campus Safety, playing a pivotal role in ensuring University-wide adherence to the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act). This includes performing daily compliance activities and upholding standards established by relevant accreditation bodies across NYU's local, global, and medical campuses and educational equities. Coordinate essential compliance and related activities, such as issuing Timely Warning Notifications, compiling the Annual Security Report, maintaining accurate crime logs, and managing crime statistics. Track, analyze, and report on all compliance activities, programs, risks, and assessments and facilitate necessary reporting for departmental leadership. Contribute to policy and protocol development and assist with implementing necessary compliance policies, procedures, programs, and activities across the University.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Required Experience:
2+ years relevant experience in legal, state, or federal regulatory compliance or equivalent combination of education and experience, proficiency in written and oral communication.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years relevant experience with Clery Act compliance in large university settings

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Comprehensive understanding of Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as guidelines from other regulatory boards, particularly those governing crime statistics and reporting. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships both within various departments of New York University and with external entities. Strong professional writing capabilities, coupled with logical and analytical thinking. Proficient in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information and data. Skilled in operating standard office equipment and adept in utilizing specialized software relevant to compliance and data analysis. Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment, efficiently managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously. Demonstrated skills in conducting training sessions with a flexible and results-driven approach to meet tight deadlines and achieve objectives.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Functional knowledge of Google Suite products and standard Microsoft Office software. Skillful in advanced Excel functions such as writing, combining, and debugging formulas; conditional formatting; data validation; and VBA. Experience working with PowerDMS' Policy Management Software, Qualtrics and Tableau.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $78,100.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
