Research Fellow - Undergraduate Research Assistant
Apply now Job Summary Students will join an NSF-funded project focused on the genetics of urban evolution. Students will participate in field and laboratory research that challenges them to think critically about evolutionary biology and genomics and will work closely with the Phifer-Rixey Lab to define an independent research project. Research will be conducted at Drexel University in Philadelphia and sites in and around Philadelphia, with opportunities for additional fieldwork in the region. Participants will gain hands-on experience in all parts of the scientific process. In addition to research, students will engage in professional development including how to create and present a scientific poster and apply to graduate school as well as outreach activities. The program is open to both local and national applicants. We strongly encourage applications from students from small colleges, community colleges, or 2-year programs whose research opportunities have been limited. Participants will receive a $5150 stipend for the 8-week program. In addition, participants will be provided with either on-campus housing for the duration of the program or a housing stipend to defray costs of local housing. Candidates who need on-campus housing must indicate it on their application. Up to $500 in travel expenses will be reimbursed for candidates outside of the Philadelphia area. Essential Functions
