Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Patrol in Leesburg, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with professionalism. You will support access control and report concerns clearly, delivering a helpful customer service approach to staff, students, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational campus location.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws, including completing required training, inspections, and documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus grounds, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity, identify hazards, and report maintenance or policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with campus leadership and local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Control access and provide security-related presence at key points, assist with visitor management and ID verification when required, provide escorts when requested, and complete detailed incident, patrol, and shift reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Possess a current armed guard card and/or armed guard license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
