Job Description




As a Security Officer - Construction Site Patrol in Carol Stream, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support access points, communicate clearly with site teams and visitors, and document observations using technology as needed. Bring an agile, reliable mindset, work through teamwork, and act with integrity in every interaction.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution environment.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of the facility, shipping and receiving areas, trailer yards, parking areas and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access control points by verifying identification and/or credentials, managing visitor and driver check-in, and directing deliveries to appropriate docks or staging areas in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, contacting site management and/or emergency services, and supporting evacuation or shelter instructions as directed.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, patrol findings and policy violations in reports and logs, and communicate relevant information to oncoming personnel and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
