Job Description




As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Driver in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location as an unarmed patrol officer in a driving post. You will complete vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control, reporting, and customer service for employees and visitors. You will bring agility, reliability, and integrity to every shift, working as one team in a caring culture that puts people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, suspicious activity, and/or disruptive behavior, and notify site leadership and/or public responders as required by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of the building, yard, dock areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards, damage, and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor and document access activity as assigned, including checking identification, verifying visitor and delivery information, and supporting controlled access at gates, entrances, and/or shipping and receiving areas.
  • Complete clear, timely reports and logs, including patrol activity, incident details, and observations, and communicate status updates through approved radios, phones, and/or reporting systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
