About the Role:

Cisco Live, the premier technology event serving Cisco's customers and partners, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Global Content Lead to support both on-demand and in-person global events. We are looking for a creative, strategic thinker who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative work environment. You will enjoy working cross-functionally with diverse global teams to understand business challenges and drive impactful content initiatives. Experience in developing creative educational learning formats for digital and in-person events is essential for this role.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy for customer events, with a strong focus on technical training and education, leveraging innovative technology and aligning with Cisco's strategic priorities.

  • Identify and engage new and emerging audiences, developing tailored content and learning formats to expand Cisco Live's reach and impact. Oversee evolution of new content formats including hands-on learning and audience journeys.

  • Manage the technical program at global Cisco Live events, including technical breakouts, technical seminars, and instructor-led labs, ensuring high-quality technical education.

  • Develop and oversee the content development process to ensure alignment with educational objectives, including content management processes, content systems, content reviews, and quality assurance

  • Manage multiple stakeholders and make informed decisions about competing priorities.

  • Partner with the digital platform team to build a year-round On-Demand content strategy, supporting global programs.

  • Support the Cisco Showcase by understanding Cisco's key priorities and working with internal team to bring the demos to life.

  • Evolve the 1:1 meeting program, including identifying new ways to connect customers with Cisco and each other.

  • Support content strategy for technology deployment across various platforms, including Webex, mobile app, website, and Cisco AI Assistant.

  • Support the global speaker community, fostering engagement and development.

  • Identify and drive the measurement program for evaluating the efficiency of the programs; includes survey evaluation and post-event reports and analysis focused on content.

Who You Are (Skills & Experience):

  • Strategic Thinker: You possess a deep understanding of business strategy and can translate high-level objectives into actionable content strategies. You are comfortable leading and influencing multiple stakeholders at all levels to drive digital and in-person content and process development, ensuring alignment with Cisco's overarching goals.

  • Experienced Event Management: You have extensive personal experience in conceptualizing, leading, and executing large-scale, highly-visible, strategic events with significant organizational impact.

  • Complex Problem Solving & Influence: An expert in navigating complex organizational dynamics, gracefully resolving high-stakes conflicts, strategically handling competing priorities, and providing clear, actionable outcomes to executive leadership, cross-functional teams, agencies, and partners.

  • Innovation & Future-Proofing: Strategy is second-nature to you; you are inherently innovative, creative, and relentlessly curious. You proactively identify emerging trends and technologies, applying them to future-proof Cisco Live's content strategy and delivery mechanisms

  • Technology & Industry Thought Leadership: You are passionate about technology, not only staying abreast of the latest advances but also understanding and articulating how digital transformation impacts the industry and Cisco's position within it. You can act as a thought leader in content strategy within the tech event space.

  • Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration: You excel at building and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organization, including senior executives, technical leaders, engineers, marketing, and sales, to secure buy-in and drive collaborative success. You are adept at managing complex stakeholder ecosystems, including volunteer engineering leaders, and making critical decisions about competing priorities with a global perspective.

Requirements

  • Requires 10+ years managing large-scale, customer events in the technology industry.

  • Expert communication skills.

  • Highly experienced with event management tools including Rainfocus or Cvent.

  • Experience managing large content programs for events.

  • BA or other degree in marketing, communications or related fields

Message to applicants applying to work in the U.S. and/or Canada: The starting salary range posted for this position is $135,000.00 to $170,200.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.

Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco's plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time.

U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco's policies:

  • 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees

  • 1 paid day off for employee's birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco

  • Non-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees

  • Exempt employees participate in Cisco's flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)

  • 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours ofunused sick timecarried forwardfrom one calendar yearto the next

  • Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members

  • Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer

For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

  • .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

  • 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

  • 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and

  • Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below:

New York City Metro Area:

$165,000.00 - $239,200.00

Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:

$145,000.00 - $210,200.00

* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco's sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.

** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
