About the Role

Prolec GE Waukesha is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Project Manager for our Service team to oversee power transformer service orders from order acceptance through final delivery. In this role, you will ensure projects are executed accurately, efficiently, and with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. Success requires exceptional communication, crossfunctional coordination, and consistent use of established project management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage transformer service orders in alignment with Prolec GE Waukesha project management processes.
  • Coordinate activities across all internal departments from initiation to completion.
  • Review customer specifications, requirements, and contracts to understand complete project scope.
  • Lead all project execution activities including kickoffs, schedule management, customer updates, change orders, invoicing, and close-out.
  • Utilize Salesforce and other internal systems for scheduling, resource planning, billing, and reporting.
  • Support internal teams and customers by answering technical questions and clarifying product capabilities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of IEEE, NEMA, and ANSI standards related to transformer installation.
  • Professionally represent the company in all customer interactions.
  • Provide performance updates and insights during internal reviews.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through transparent, proactive communication.
  • Coordinate site surveys, testing, and field reports to meet project deadlines.
  • Address delayed payment issues and manage change orders to protect financial performance.
  • Ensure timely milestone invoicing consistent with financial targets.
  • Use Power BI and Salesforce as part of daily project management work.
  • Communicate clearly, factually, and consistently to keep stakeholders aligned.
  • Calculate contractual liquidated damages, penalties, and escalation when required.
  • Uphold company values and maintain accountability for project outcomes.
  • Lead productive cross-functional and customer meetings.
  • Travel up to 20% for customer visits, team meetings, and industry events.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong technical project management capabilities, including schedule management and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with internal systems, including Salesforce and SAP reports, for transformer services.
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Customer-focused communication skills-verbal, written, listening, and presentation.
  • Experience working in an engineered-product service environment with increasing responsibility.
  • Ability to manage confidential data, navigate complex challenges, and demonstrate initiative.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years of project management experience with similar types of equipment.

Preferred

  • Project management coursework or certification
  • Experience with transformer applications and field service environments.
