Our Philosophy Kyocera Values Ready to Make a Difference? GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Production Control Coordinator is a professional who oversees the production process. Works closely with materials management and production management to ensure production readiness and product availability. They attend production meetings, facilitate product movement between departments, and record product updates. They also verify quality standards, equipment calibration, and paperwork. They handle shipments, train employees if needed, and monitor stockroom inventory. They also review sales orders for product/component accuracy before production begins and coordinate the supply chain for multiple product lines. They maintain accurate inventory levels to support delivery dates based on production lead times and review forecast plans to meet customer demand. Production Control Coordinator is a detail-oriented and proactive role that involves coordinating with various departments including Sales, Purchasing, Design, Engineering, Production, and Quality Assurance to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of products. The Production Control Coordinator will play a crucial role in compiling data, identifying gaps, and working collaboratively to optimize materials procurement, production scheduling, and delivery timelines. REQUIREMENTS - Minimum of an associate degree or bachelor's required or equivalent experienced; additional education or certifications in a relevant field preferred. - Minimum of 6 months to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing control environment, with a strong understanding of production processes and scheduling. - Proficiency in ERP systems and other relevant software applications. - Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. - Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and address challenges before they escalate. - Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Compile relevant data from ERP systems to determine materials needed to meet demand requirements. 2. Reviews current PO's from customers and schedules the stockroom for releases based on production process lead times, material availability, and customer need date. 3. Decides which supplier to order materials from based on MOQ's, unit pricing, and lead time. 4. Uses knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper authorities regarding potential problems and appropriate remedial action. 5. Maintains schedules for material requirements and availability for the manufacture of components to support customer delivery dates. 6. Provides instruction to the Shipping and Receiving department on what needs to ship out on a daily basis. 7. Reviews customer assembly instructions and assure special/non-standard instructions are clearly communicated to the production floor. 8. Sends WIP and inventory reports when requested by the customer. Must work with Sales and Customer to resolve any discrepancies. 9. Resolves paperwork discrepancies with incoming material. This involves working with Purchasing for company purchased materials and Sales for customer consigned material. 10. Analyze data to identify gaps and collaborate with Purchasing and Design teams to ensure optimal component procurement considering cost and lead time requirements. 11. Coordinate with production groups to establish delivery dates for new orders, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and production capacity. 12. Enforce procedures to ensure adherence to quality standards, production schedules, and cost control measures. 13. Conduct frequent reviews of schedules, proactively addressing any challenges to minimize impact on customer delivery timelines. 14. Escalate challenges promptly and effectively, ensuring all relevant parties are informed and actions are taken to resolve issues efficiently. 15. Maintain a strong focus on critical metrics including On-Time Delivery and cost control, implementing corrective actions as needed to achieve targets.
