    Job Description

    The Market Intelligence Analyst is an essential member of APM's business development team, responsible for conducting comprehensive research, data collection, and analysis to identify emerging market opportunities and inform strategic growth efforts. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Business Development, the person in this role conducts research and analysis to generate actionable insights that drive business development and revenue growth. This includes analyzing industry trends, competitor activities, and potential customer needs. The Analyst will play a key role in building the foundational intelligence required to strategically position APM for expansion into new sectors and the successful launch of innovative service models. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute directly to APM's strategic growth and innovation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for uncovering insights from data, a strong desire to learn, and an interest in the dynamic intersection of government services, new markets, and innovative solutions.

    • Market Research & Data Collection: Conduct thorough research on underserved and emerging market sectors, particularly within government agencies and health-related industries. Gather data on market size, growth trends, regulatory landscapes, funding mechanisms, and procurement strategies.
    • Competitor Analysis: Research and analyze key competitors for specific opportunities and market segments, identifying their strengths, weaknesses, incumbent performance, and strategic approaches.
    • Customer & Opportunity Intelligence: Collect intelligence on prospective customers, including organizational structures, key decision-makers, strategic priorities, pain points, and existing contract vehicles. Research the feasibility of specific prospects and opportunities.
    • Trend Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor, evaluate, and report on emerging technologies, policy changes, and industry trends relevant to APM's strategic interests, providing insights that inform innovation initiatives.
    • Data Analysis & Synthesis: Analyze collected qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns, emerging opportunities, risks, and strategic implications for APM. Synthesize complex information into clear, concise findings.
    • Reporting & Presentation: Prepare compelling and data-driven reports, presentations, and dashboards. Visualize data effectively to communicate key insights and recommendations.
    • CRM Data Support: Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date opportunity data within APM's CRM system, supporting pipeline management and reporting efforts.
    • Ad Hoc Research Support: Provide timely research and analytical support for special projects, strategic initiatives, and ad-hoc requests from leadership teams.
    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.

    Experience

    • 1-3 years of experience in market research, business intelligence, data analysis, management consulting or a similar analytical role. Internships or academic projects with a strong research component are highly valued.
    • Familiarity with government contracting, market research, and research analytics is a plus.

    • Research & Analytical Acumen: Strong ability to conduct thorough qualitative and quantitative research, synthesize information, and identify key insights
    • Data Visualization & Reporting: Proficiency in creating impactful reports, presentations, and data visualizations using tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and potentially Power BI
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and reliability
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate findings clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences
    • Problem-Solving: Curious mindset with a proactive approach to identifying research needs and solving analytical challenges
    • Tool Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and/or market research databases

      Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, taking direction and collaborating with senior leaders to achieve shared goals

      Initiative & Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn new concepts, tools, and industry specifics, and to take initiative in supporting team objectives

    This is an individual contributor role and does not have any direct reports.

    Extensive standing, and sitting and continuous computer, phone, and deskwork required. Work will be primarily in a defined office environment with specified hours. Will require one on one and group interaction with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
