Systems Interface Engineer Huntsville Al, or, Colorado Springs, CO Pay From $120,000 Per Year MUST Systems Interface Engineer Secret required 9+ years' experience in Systems Engineering or related discipline. Required experience in authoring ICDs and IDDs that are DID compliant and to DoD Standards. Must be able to function as part of an experienced team in developing systems engineering products and artifacts while adhering to the program Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and other processes. Required experience in requirements elicitation including the use behavior diagrams as an analysis tool to understand and decompose requirements. Engineering skills and experience with interface engineering including authoring of Interface Control Documents (ICDS) and Interface Design Documents (IDDS), to include: message definition and processing rules; message formatting (e.g. XML, VMF, et al); physical/network specifications and models, to include the ISO OSI model; physical/network topologies and devices; network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, et al) is a must. Required engineering, and development of behavioral models and diagrams including use cases, sequence diagrams, and activity diagrams are required. Experience with Agile or iterative development methodologies. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are a must. Requirements engineering, to include experience working with IBM Rational's Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) is highly desirable. Risk Management Framework (RMF) -based cyber security, and experience with Agile or Iterative Development Methods are preferred. Experience with authoring Missile Defense System (MDS) ICDs and IDDs preferred Experience in authoring Complex Command and Control Systems ICDs and IDDs preferred Proven ability to author Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Documents (IDDs) that are DID compliant and meet DoD standards. Strong understanding of systems engineering processes and principles with a track record of applying them to develop product solutions. Experience in requirements elicitation and analysis using behavior diagrams (use cases, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams). Knowledge of message definition and processing rules, message formatting (e.g., XML, VMF). Knowledge of physical/network specifications, ISO OSI model knowledge, network topologies, and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, etc.). Ability to work effectively on a team, adhering to the program Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and related processes. BS Degree in a STEM field (Mechanical Engineering preferred), or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years or more of relevant professional experience DUTIES This is a team deputy/admin position on the C2BMC Site Engineering Team that requires technical expertise (i.e. hardware/system design, drafting of technical drawings) in addition to supporting the team lead in management of the admin tasks for the team, supporting multiple projects in parallel and managing pop-up tasks that occur. Responsibilities include: analysis of hardware characteristics and comparison against design requirements; developing plans for rack integration and creating the design; preparation/drafting and review of rack level technical drawings and larger site-wide technical drawings and plans; review of the content and details of technical products; completing required documentation and drawings in accordance with Systems and/or Hardware Engineer direction; acting as a technical interface to Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) National Team (NT) working level counterparts and the MDA customer; conducting/supporting technical level meetings; documenting, managing and statusing assigned scope via Agile methodologies; supporting the development of Basis of Estimates (BOE) and Engineering Estimates (EE) through analysis of scope and requirements, and providing labor and material estimates with justification. The successful Site Engineering deputy will be a member of a focused team, who will interface with peer-level team members, the Deployment Team Leadership and MDNT management to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.
