Job Description




As a Security Officer - Front Office Desk in Mc Lean, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Front Desk Officer in a retail location, you will welcome guests, manage visitor check-in, support access control and badge processes, and monitor entry points and cameras for security-related concerns. Your professional presence and clear communication can help to deter incidents while delivering a positive experience for employees and shoppers. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests and staff at a retail location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Staff the front desk in a professional manner, greeting visitors, verifying identification as required, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining sign-in and sign-out records.
  • Monitor lobby activity and public areas near the entrance for unusual behavior, escalating concerns and/or policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Support retail loss prevention and operational needs by controlling access to non-public areas, coordinating with store associates, and providing clear directions and information to visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
