Position Summary: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual account roll forward schedules for various balance sheet accounts for Atlas Air and Polar Air. Prepare monthly and quarterly expense analysis and variance explanations. Assist in the documentation of Sarbanes Oxley section 404 compliance. Invoice coding. Billing of Engine Changes, Thrust Reversers, APUs and Landing Gear and collection of receivables. Component Loan Billing.

Major Job Accountabilities:



  • Work with Atlas accounting, finance, operational personnel and outside auditors and vendors
  • Prepare analyses and journal entries to ensure accurate expense recognition in accordance with GAAP and to track comprehensive expenditures on long term projects, aircraft overhauls and repairs
  • Determine accruals for assigned accounts
  • Invoice coding, routing and approval
  • Communicate with vendors on invoices and account balances
  • Ability to interpret and summarize accounting impact on long term contracts
  • Assist in control documentation and remediation of SOX controls relating to Technical Operations
  • Available to work extended hours as needed
  • Must have excellent PC skills (Excel, Word)
  • Special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Experience working with public reporting companies
  • Experience working with budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis and cost benefit analysis
  • Minimum education requirements - Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • CPA a plus (with Big 4 experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Excellent computer skills in spreadsheets, database applications required
  • Able to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and cope with shifting demands
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes -Oxley, particularly Section 404
  • Able to work effectively with large groups of data
  • Highly organized individual with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • JD Edwards and BlackLine software experience helpful
  • Airline experience a plus

Competitive compensation will be offered based on a variety of factors, including a candidate's experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal equity and other factors. In addition, a range of benefits to include medical, dental and vision insurance, employee assistance program, as well as generous paid time off, and 401K contributions are offered as a part of the total compensation package.
