DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Insurance Enforcement Intern, you will learn how to conduct and assist with investigations of insurance companies, producers, and any other persons or entities engaged and operating in the business of insurance in Pennsylvania. Investigations are carried out by analyzing entities' books, records, and files, including but not limited to checking accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivables, correspondence, complaints, account currents, and operating files. You will have the opportunity to participate in joint insurance related investigations with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies such as the District Attorney's Offices, the State Attorney General's Office, the U. S. Postal Inspection Services, the State Police and the F. B. I. Work also involves assisting with gathering and analyzing evidence obtained in an investigation by interviewing complainants, witnesses, or respondents, and examining collected documents for violations of Insurance Department laws. Additional responsibilities include:
- Preparing comprehensive detailed reports
- Preparing evidence and giving testimony at formal Insurance Department hearings and or criminal court
- Assisting with preparing recommendations for new regulations and legislation
- Preparing investigative plans
- Consistently maintaining a professional level of conduct while completing assigned investigations and when interacting with representatives of the insurance industry and the general

- Internship, anticipated start date of June 2026. Potential part-time or full-time internship, 25 to 37.5 hours per week.
- Parking is provided
- Work hours will be flexible within 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch, to align with the supervisor and unit.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office a few days per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Spring of 2026 graduates may also be considered for this program.
- A minimum of 12 credits in criminal justice.
- Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher).
