POSITION SUMMARY: The Security Staff will protect the Staff, Patients, and Property of Milwaukee Health Services, Inc. by monitoring and authorizing entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of the premises. POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide excellent customer service to all staff and patients Answer alarms and investigate disturbances Maintain watch of the electronic surveillance system Respond to emergency calls as needed Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences Notify Facilities Manager or Supervisor of needs for major repairs or unsafe conditions needing attention Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, when necessary Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property Maintains security of unoccupied space owned by the Health Center Assists staff as needed in matters of security and safety Deescalate situations quickly and effectively Maintain all security equipment Respond as needed per on call rotation schedule Perform other job-related duties as required POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Experience: 1 to 2 years of security experience. Previous security experience within a healthcare setting preferred. The employee will value customer service and maintain a positive attitude. Employees should be able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations Language: Comprehend and use basic language, either written or spoken, to communicate information and ideals.
