Job Duties
Working with the Head Coach and Football Offensive staff, the individual serving in this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Oversee and maintain the football scouting database. This will involve evaluating opponent game film and analyzing data on each play. Developing reports from inputting data and distributing it to each coach for game planning, student-athlete coaching and preparation study.
- Oversee quality control coordinators (QCs) and graduate assistant staff (GAs). This includes, but not limited to, the training of GAs and QCs on editing software, organization, and delegation of work assigned by the Offensive Coordinator or Head Football Coach and ensuring that each GA and QC staff member knows practice duties.
- Assist Coordinator in designing practice schedules. This position will provide assistance of fall camp team practice schedules and details.
- Responsible for charting and recording plays during each football contest and during practice. This includes providing statistical data to coaches during the game for game management decisions.
- Assist Offensive Coordinator with all duties for practice and game plan preparation.
- Complete breakdowns of opponents to be completed a week ahead of time.
- Coordinate video cutups of all opponents defensive film
- Assist Offensive Coordinator with all distribution of offensive game plans.
- Assist with recruiting and closing packets as assigned.
- Responsible for drawing defensive scout team looks ("cards")
- Responsible for the Offensive schedules and scripts.
- Responsible for offseason future opponent breakdown and cutups
- Responsible for various elements of offensive quality control.
- Responsible for editing offensive playbook using XOS Catapult.
- Responsible for construction and distribution of offensive spring playbooks.
- Post-game clip videos and power points
- Communicate needs from Offensive Staff to video and equipment staff
- Work with recruiting staff to evaluate High School prospects and transfers
- Perform duties with professional conduct representing the University and Athletic Department. Provide leadership cultivating an environment of compliance, excellence in performance, respect, and student-athlete well-being.
- Comply with all applicable laws, policies, by-laws, regulations, procedures, and guidelines of North Carolina, University of North Carolina system, East Carolina University, the Department of Athletics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association ( NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.
- Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with athletics, Pirate Club, and University staff, students, and all constituents and stakeholders.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree required.

Qualifying degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.

At least one year of football coaching or playing experience required.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Collegiate football coaching experience is preferred.

Familiarity with DVSport Video, HUDL, Visio, Excel, Power point, and Microsoft Word is preferred.

Offensive experience is preferred.
