The role - what you'll do Barr is seeking a structural inspector to join the field team tied to our Hibbing, Minnesota, office. In this hybrid role, you will support the Engineering and Design business unit on a variety of structural inspection projects, including general condition assessments, detailed inspections, plan and specification preparation, report writing, and construction observation. Structural inspections involve assessing existing steel and concrete structures, tanks, and equipment and documenting existing conditions. Assignments may involve travel to local and out-of-town industrial sites; out-of-town assignments generally last less than one week. The ideal candidate for this position is a clear and confident communicator who thrives in collaborative and independent work environments. They are adaptable, organized, proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable asking thoughtful questions. They bring a high level of attention to detail and take ownership of assigned tasks in dynamic field and office conditions. They demonstrate reliability, safety awareness, and a growth mindset as they build their technical skills and professional judgment. Flexibility to adjust schedules for project needs and a commitment to Barr's core values are essential. Safety training will be provided before being assigned work on such sites. Compensation: Anticipated range of $18.00-$30.00 hourly. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance.
