Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Interim Product Specialist to provide short-term support in managing, coordinating, and optimizing assigned products, systems, or technical solutions. This role ensures continuity of operations, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) stakeholder alignment, and delivery performance during a transition period.

The Interim Product Specialist will serve as a key liaison between technical teams, program management, operations, and end users, helping maintain product performance, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment with LANL's national security mission.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support manufacturing operations in a high-rigor production environment, coordinating product flow through production control and MRP/ERP systems to meet mission requirements.
  • Track production schedules, monitor performance metrics, and ensure timely delivery of deliverables.
  • Execute Packaging & Transportation (P&T) activities for hazardous and classified materials, including generating and managing shipping documentation.
  • Prepare Quality Instructions (QIs) and Product Configuration Documentation (PCDs) in SOMS and create/manage Work Orders.
  • Conduct visual verification of parts to ensure compliance with production and quality standards.
  • Gain and maintain HE, HazMat, and classified matter handling qualifications; support CKA assemblies and ConOps-aligned production activities.
  • Implement and document manufacturing processes and procedures while collaborating within a matrixed technical and operational organization.
  • Ensure adherence to DOT 49 CFR and all applicable safety, security, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications


  • Active DOE Q clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, technical program coordination, or systems oversight.
  • Experience working in complex, regulated, or government environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a mission-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with lifecycle management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working within DOE, NNSA, or national laboratory environments.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, scientific computing, enterprise systems, or national security technologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or similar certification.
