Under the direction of the Enterprise Coding Manager, the Enterprise Coding Supervisor is responsible for providing first-line supervision for Medical Coding staff. Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to: daily supervision and monitoring of quality and productivity performance, interviewing, hiring, and any necessary discipline of staff. This position also involves participation in process improvement projects and supporting the work needed to meet department and institutional wide goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience:5 years of relevant experience required, with at least one year in lead position. 2 years' Supervisory experience preferred. Licensure: One of the following certifications are required, Certification Professional Coder (CPC, CCS-P), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist Physician-Based (CCS-P). PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
