Position Summary:

While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives, will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.

Help track all government-furnished property on the project. Ensure that physical property is safeguarded against damage, is used for its intended purpose, and is properly tracked from acquisition through ultimate disposal. Support audits of its activities through the maintenance of the property database. Assist with management of the GSA Vehicle Fleet.

This position reports to the N3B Facility Support Programs Manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

  • Maintain custody of property and assets to ensure continual accountability in accordance with applicable corporate policy or government regulations.
  • Support the Property Specialist Lead as his/her responsible person for N3B property.
  • Work with Shipping and Receiving to tag, mark, or otherwise identify property at the time of purchase so that it can be tracked through the property database.
  • Ensure all property data is entered and maintained accurately in the property management information system.
  • Assist with the annual property inventory and reconcile tracked property annually and as necessary to verify the physical inventory of property.
  • Perform to the established methods and standards, meeting or exceeding the company's safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Transfer property from and accept property into the property account based on changing requirements, and monitor movements of property within the company.
  • Assist in the education of property users on the management of property to include property passes, excess and transfer of property, and reutilization of existing assets.
  • Account for and immediately reassign all tracked property assigned to an employee at the time of their termination or resignation.
  • Perform routine walk-throughs of operating and administrative spaces to address the material condition of buildings, structures, installed systems or other fixed assets; document identified issues so that corrective actions can be developed and take corrective actions to preserve property value.
  • Assist with disposition of property excess that is no longer required by the company, including facilitating with the appropriate method of disposition.
  • Help maintain all LLCC Real Property information in the Facilities Information Management System (FIMS) DOE Corporate database.
  • Assist the Facility Support Programs Manager with Facility maintenance issues.
  • Summarize monthly data from GSA Vehicle log sheets into the standardized database.
  • Schedule and facilitate delivery of GSA Vehicles to repair shops for Preventative Maintenance (PM), general repairs, and/or manufacturer recalls.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

  • Ability to execute all facets of inventory management.
  • Ability to work within established policies and procedures, using independent judgement, ingenuity, and integrity.
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs in the department and organization.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities and meet high volume deadlines.
  • Strong ability to schedule and manage own work schedule effectively.
  • Experience working in a team environment with a strong safety culture.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree combined with 3 to 5 years of relative experience. A combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.

A current valid Drivers License is required for this position.

Education Equivalency: 2 years of relevant experience for 1 year of college.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Normally assigned to perform work in an office environment. Only electrical hazards and other minor potential hazards normally found in an office environment are anticipated. Some work at offices or field locations on the LANL site should be expected. Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline.
